Verdict: Must See
Comments: Though otherwise a solid episode, “The Man Trap” unfortunately fails to serve as a strong introduction to Star Trek. This is one of several reasons I prefer watching the original Star Trek in production order rather than broadcast order.

Fun Trivia

NBC broadcast “The Man Trap” as the first Star Trek episode ever to air, 50 years ago tonight on Thursday, September 8, 1966. Though Star Trek only ran for three seasons (1966-1969) before cancellation, the original crew returned in an animated series (1973-1974) as well as two film series (1979-1991 & 2009-Present).
