Let The Points Soar: Washington Redskins 2013 Training Camp Photos – Richmond, VA

For the first time ever, the Washington Redskins are here in Richmond for training camp. On Saturday, my wife surprised me with new Redskins gear and a trip out to see their morning walk-through session. We had a wonderful time, so I thought I would share a few of the 250 photos we took that day.

Though it draws less of a crowd than the more physical afternoon practice sessions, what I thought was so cool about the walk-through was that it felt like I was watching the Redskins in a game of backyard touch football.

If you’re a football fan within traveling distance of Richmond, it is definitely worth your while to make a trip to experience Redskins training camp, which is free and continuing here for the next two weeks.

If you go, be sure to check out a local restaurant or two while you are here, such as the delicious Dairy Bar. For the best sports information, including wall-to-wall coverage of Redskins training camp, tune your radio to ESPN 950 AM. Also peruse the Richmond Times-Dispatch, including its Training Camp blog.

Kudos to the Washington Redskins organization, the City of Richmond, and everyone else who made this memorable experience possible for fans. On a more personal note, thank you to my wife for taking me out there.

I have to say that my favorite part was watching the players hang out with the children they pulled from the sidelines at the end.  I haven’t been this excited about the Redskins season starting since I was a kid myself!
