Star Wars: The Complete Saga will be released on Blu-ray in September. Though that is eight months away, it is now available for pre-order over on Amazon. Check out this incredible preview. It gives me chills, but I am an emotional geek, after all.
The two trilogies (Episode I through III prequels and Episode IV through VI originals) will also be available separately, for those who prefer to own only one or the other. Buying the full set seems like the best deal, though. Besides, I enjoy all six films and cannot imagine having just half of them on Blu.
Unfortunately, Star Wars creator George Lucas has already announced that the original trilogy on Blu will only contain “special editions” of the films and not the original theatrical versions. Here is hoping he changes his mind and includes the unaltered versions as well. Either way, though, September cannot get here soon enough.
The set was first announced in August. In anticipation, I have been taking a break from watching the Star Wars films or listening to the soundtracks since then. Come to think of it, maybe that is why that preview seemed so great… it was a Star Wars fix!
