Forty years ago today, on July 20, 1969, astronaut Michael Collins orbited the moon while his fellow astronauts Edwin “Buzz” Aldrin and Neil Armstrong became the first to step foot on Earth’s moon. The three astronauts, along with the thousands of others involved in the Apollo effort, forever changed the way we see our own world.
