“Blankets are okay, but . . . your hands are trapped inside.”

When this commercial for a product called “Snuggie” came on the television earlier today, I nearly fell off the couch with laughter. Fortunately, I managed to keep myself in place.

According to the cheerful narrator, “Blankets are okay, but . . . when you need to reach for something, your hands are trapped inside.”

That is right, folks, after thousands of years, someone has finally invented a blanket for people too lazy or stupid to maneuver their hands while covered up.

My fellow couch potatoes, “Snuggie: The Blanket With Sleeves!” will now allow you to do important things like answer the phone, work the remote, or stuff your face with popcorn while still “staying snuggly warm.”

As a great philosopher once said, “I have got to get me one of these!”
