“Star Wars: Unaltered” fails to make starwars.com’s “Best of 2006” list

The biggest Star Wars event of the year, the DVD release of Star Wars: Unaltered–the original theatrical versions of Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi–did not even crack the top ten of the official Star Wars site’s end of the year “Star Wars: The Best of 2006” list.

Starwars.com’s list ranged from “A decade of Starwars.com” coming in at number ten, all the way up to the release of the LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy video game at number one.

No mention of the much hyped, much anticipated Star Wars: Unaltered. Perhaps it was the negative fan reaction to the lack of a properly restored, anamorphic release that, in the eyes of Lucasfilm, torpedoed what should have been Star Wars’ greatest moment since, well, Star Wars!
