Ben Affleck (Daredevil, Pearl Harbor, Armageddon) stars as George Reeves in Hollywoodland, opening in US theaters today.
The movie examines the 1959 shooting death of Reeves, who played Superman in the 1951 movie Superman and the Mole-Men and the 1952-1958 television series The Adventures of Superman.
Though officially ruled a suicide, the circumstances around his death have inspired a number of theories over the years–including the possibility that the actor was actually murdered.
Hollywoodland presents three of those theories. The film also stars Adrien Brody (King Kong ) and Diane Lane (The Perfect Storm, Murder at 1600, Judge Dredd).
