“Episode II” earns $110 million in only four days

Star Wars: Episode II—Attack of the Clones earned $110 million in its North American release for Thursday through Sunday, becoming the second-fastest movie in history to break the $100 million mark.

The movie grossed $30 million on Thursday, opening day, which set a record for highest film gross ever for a non-holiday weekday.

During the weekend period of Friday through Sunday, Episode II earned another $80 million and beat out Spider-Man to become the number one film in the US.

Star Wars: Episode II made more money in four days than the most recent Star Trek movie made during its entire release (Star Trek: Insurrection, with only $70 million).
